XP20 Heat Pump
Great performance and a good price
August 02, 2025I did design work for commercial data centers for most of my life. I’m very particular when it comes to a/c design and build. When our old single stage 5 ton unit started giving us problems I put together a rfp and started sending it to highly rated local companies. I’m equipment agnostic I just normally specify the conditions and rely on the contractor to supply the correct equipment. I quickly found out that you can’t do this with residential services. After a considerable amount of time I had 16 bids for a new system , I specified a fully variable speed heat pump based system and required a hold back until the system passed a independent 3rd party inspection and home energy audit, I had a full energy audit done before requesting bids. Of the 16 bids only 3 came back offering the request specifications. Most of the bids were for 5 ton single stage low end or entry level systems and were all priced over $30k. One bid did match the specs but was over $45k. I also looked at the vendors history, equipment lines and time in service. I ended up with the ÂÜÀòÓ°ÊÓsystem, I preferred another brand that mostly sells commercial systems but the vendor met my standards, agreed to the hold back until the testing was done. That was 3 years ago, the ÂÜÀòÓ°ÊÓbrand has had some issues in the previous 5 years but checking with distributors it looks like they had resolved the issue that they had. The new unit is quiet, very efficient, our utility bills are significantly lower, and it keeps the indoor humidity close to perfect, something that the 3 previous units could not do even with a whole house dehumidifier added. Choosing the right vendor is critical to a good installation. Most A/C contractors are walking into a desperate homeowner, with 90 degrees + inside the house to many contractors take advantage and install a cheap low end unit at top of the line prices. It’s worth the investment to rent a temp unit or whatever it takes to find a qualified honest contractor that does the correct installation the first time. You will see many bad reviews that are the fault of the contractor not the manufacturer. So far very happy with the unit, its efficiency and how comfortable it keeps this old home.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Proper sizing and installation of equipment is critical to achieve optimal performance. Split system air conditioners and heat pumps (excluding ductless systems) must be matched with appropriate coil components to meet ENERGY STAR criteria. Ask your contractor for details or visit .
