We are among the few retirement communities in the country to have its own full-time fellowship-trained geriatrician (a physician specializing in the care of older adults) on staff. Some of the conditions routinely treated by our medical team include:
Dr. Ann Moore, D.O. ![]() Dr. Moore is board certified in internal medicine with additional certification in geriatrics and hospice-palliative medicine. She is certified as a Medical Director by the American Medical Directors Association (AMDA) and serves as the current President of the Indiana Chapter. [visit AMDA website here] The full-time presence of Dr. Moore at Peabody Retirement Community has helped nursing staff develop the necessary skills to provide care for many residents in their Peabody residences during illnesses that may otherwise require hospitalization. Her training and continued participation in educational seminars mean that she is effective in the diagnosis and management of a variety of illnesses and chronic conditions that affect older adults. She understands how many common medical conditions and their associated treatments may impact an older adult differently than a younger person. Dr. Moore continues her commitment to improving the quality of medical care and resident life through her involvement in various national and regional medical oversight bodies. Dr. Moore established her practice at Peabody in 2000 and continues to serve as our Director of Health Administration.
