On Thursday, March 28, 2002, the Peabody Board of Trustees made history by approving an expansion of programs and services at Peabody Retirement Community. After nearly five years of study and design by staff and consultants, Peabody broke ground on three new state-of-the-art living environments for older persons: Health Care, Memory Enhancement, and Assisted Living. The new buildings were opened to residents in the spring of 2004.
At a total cost of $61,360,000, Phase-1 quickly became one of the most aggressive construction projects in Indiana. Today, the new buildings shine like a beacon to older persons, welcoming them home to a place where convenience and easy living is the rule.
